Terms and Conditions

Our Online Learning Courses

For the purposes of the Terms and Conditions listed below, the term ‘booking contact’ refers to the individual making the original course booking. The term ‘learner(s)’ refers to the individuals who have been registered to complete the training. And the term ‘trainers’ refers to the individuals who deliver video classes or speak at one of our training events.

REGISTERING FOR AN ONLINE COURSE

Once you complete an online booking form for a course, the ‘booking contact’ will be sent a booking confirmation email within one working day. Confirmation of registration will be emailed to the ‘learner(s)’, using our automated course confirmation system. If you have not received your acknowledgement within one working day of registering, please contact us to confirm your course booking.

PAYMENT

The online booking form for our courses constitutes a legally binding purchase agreement. Invoices will be raised within 3 working days of the booking being made. Payment of the invoice can then be completed using our online card payment system, bank transfer or cheque. Payment should be received, in full, within 28 days of the invoice date.

To qualify for a special offer – such as a discounted group rate – courses must be booked and paid for, on or in advance of any published discount deadlines.

If your organisation operates a purchase order system, please ensure you get the appropriate authorisation prior to booking the course – if you complete a course registration and fail to get such authorisation you will be held personally liable for payment.

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS AND MULTI-USE

We appreciate that mistakes can be made and circumstances can change.

If, having purchased an online course, you decide you no longer wish to proceed with the training – you will be eligible for a full refund, provided you notify us of your intention to cancel your place within 90 days of your booking and provided you have not progressed with the course beyond the first ‘video class’.

We regret that no refunds can be offered if the ‘learner’ has progressed their course beyond the first ‘video class’.

‘Learners’ are understood to be completing the course themselves and may not offer their course login details to colleagues. We use course monitoring software which will alert us to suspected occasions of ‘multi-use’, where single ‘learner’ login details are being used by multiple colleagues. On such occasions, the ‘learner’ will have their registration temporarily frozen pending further investigation. And this may ultimately lead to the ‘learner’ having their access to the course removed. Such decisions will be at the discretion of Policy Hub Scotland.

WEBCHATS

Access to our course webchats and video calls will be restricted to those who have purchased the related Online Learning Course. Where open, free-to-access webchats are held across particular policy areas, this will be made clear to all participants. However, Policy Hub Scotland reserves the right to monitor and remove access rights to individual participants in such webchats at any time, where it is deemed appropriate to do so.

DISCLAIMER

The actions and views expressed by ‘trainers’ and fellow ‘learners’ through the Online Learning Courses and associated webchats, cannot in any way be attributed to Policy Hub Scotland.

Our Training Events

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION

Confirmation of registration will be emailed to the ‘booking contact’. If you have not received your acknowledgement within two working days of registering, please contact us to confirm your booking. We cannot be held responsible for the non-arrival of delegate registration information.

PAYMENT

The online conference booking form constitutes a legally binding purchase agreement. Payment should be received, in full, within 28 days of the invoice date.

To qualify for a special offer – such as a discounted rate – bookings must be submitted and paid for, on or in advance of any published deadline.

If your organisation operates a purchase order system, please ensure you get the appropriate authorisation prior to booking – if you complete a booking and fail to get such authorisation you will be held personally liable for payment.

CANCELLATIONS / SUBSTITUTIONS

We appreciate that circumstances can change. For those unable to attend, a substitute delegate may be registered with us (by email or phone) at any time for no additional charge. Alternatively a refund will be given for cancellations confirmed in writing, up to 14 days prior to the event.

We regret that no refunds can be offered for cancellations made less than 14 days before the event or for delegates who fail to attend on the day, as we will have already incurred the costs of the place with our suppliers – the venue provider, caterers etc.

REFUNDS

Full refunds will be given to cancellations made – in writing – more than 14 days before the event as per our cancellation terms above.
Should Policy Hub Scotland cancel an event, the delegate and billing contact/organisation will be offered a full refund, or, if preferred, the option to switch the booking to another training session (even if the session would normally incur a higher delegate rate).

Should Policy Hub Scotland postpone or reschedule an event, delegates will first be offered the opportunity to attend on the rescheduled date. If this proves unsuitable to a delegate, a full refund will be offered.

DISCLAIMER

Policy Hub Scotland will make every attempt to provide the programme as advertised. However, in the event of speakers being unable to attend, or any other circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to alter the programme and other particulars as appropriate.

The actions and views expressed by speakers and delegates at our events cannot in any way be attributed to Policy Hub Scotland.
