Modern Web Browsers
Are elements of this website not functioning or appearing strangely on your device?
A small number of you may find that this website appears strangely on your device or has links that cannot be opened.
Policy Hub Scotland is a new and interactive site. Web standards and technology are constantly evolving, providing us with more features and better technology to create applications that best suit your learner journey.
Modern web browsers like Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari are constantly evolving too, regularly being updated and improved upon.
INTERNET EXPLORER however is not evolving at all. It is old and outdated, representing just 3% of web traffic. It’s developer, Microsoft, states that continuing to use Internet Explorer is not recommended.
Microsoft Teams stopped supporting Internet Explorer on November 30, 2020 and Microsoft 365 products will end Internet Explorer support on August 17, 2021.
This means IE is an insecure web browser and organisations or individuals should not be using it beyond August 2021 (at the latest).
As a result, this website does not officially support Internet Explorer for front-end display. The website will, and still does, appear on IE versions but the functionality of the site will be limited by the limitations Internet Explorer has.
To use this website – and indeed to browse the internet generally – in a secure way and in a way that ensures everything looks and functions perfectly, we recommend users take advantage of any of the modern web browsers that are available. (Note: if you are using an Apple device, you will be browsing the web with Apple Safari)
