Course Welcome

Welcome to our course on Mental Health Law and Practice led by Sarah Prentice, a Senior Solicitor on Mental Health and Adults with Incapacity Law – currently working in the Fitness to Practise Department of the Scottish Social Services Council and as an Independent Safeguarder for the Adults with Incapacity Court.

In this opening class, Sarah welcomes and introduces learners to the course. With a mix of video classes, activities and interactive content, the course explores the details around Mental Health law, including forms of detention and compulsory treatment – and how to respond when difficulties arise.
