Mental Health Champions - Class Teacher programme
Led by Place2Be, the ‘Mental Health Champions – Class Teacher programme’ is designed for teaching staff who have an interest in developing their knowledge around children and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing and how to work with this in the classroom.
By the end of the programme participants will:
- be confident in addressing mental health in the classroom
- have an understanding of attachment and recent developments in neuroscience
- feel more confident building resilience in children – with skills in solution focused and cognitive behavioural techniques
- be more self-aware and understanding of how to look after their own mental well-being
The programme consists of four three-hour workshops supported by Place2Think group consultation sessions. The workshops will be held on the following dates:
- Friday 25 October
- Friday 22 November
- Friday 13 December
- Thursday 13 February
The programme emphasises engagement and interaction between participants, often including role plays and other small group work. As a result the number of places available on the course is limited to 18 attendees.
Place2Be is a children's mental health charity providing universal and targeted school-based mental health support to over 280 schools throughout Britain.
